ULTIMATE UTAH: SALT LAKE CITY, BRYCE/ ZION/
ARCHES NATIONAL PARKS,
UTAH THEATRE
FESTIVAL & MORE
Thursday—Thursday, August 26-September 2
We begin our journey with our flight from CVG to Salt Lake City where we’re met by our
deluxe motorcoach for the brief ride into the city itself. Once in Salt Lake we’re treated
to a city tour, including TEMPLE SQUARE, home to the Mormon Tabernacle and our
attendance at the TABERNACLE CHOIR’S evening rehearsal. The next day we head away
from Salt Lake for our day trip out to Park City and the home to the SUNDANCE FILM
FESTIVAL and U.S. OLYMPIC TRAINING SITE. Then onto PROVO home to Robert
Redford’s SUNDANCE RESORT, our stop for lunch. Saturday takes us to the amazing
natural wonder of BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK. Thousands of delicately carved
spires rise in brilliant color from the amphitheatres of the canyons, formed by millions
of years of winds, water and geologic mayhem. Next we’re off to Utah’s oldest national
park ZION NATIONAL PARK designated in 1919. The Virgin River has gnawed through
native sandstone to create the incredible scenery found in Zion. Our evening invites us to
a COWBOY RODEO complete with campfire favorite ‘vittles’ and the thrilling feats of
cowboys. The following morning we head off to Cedar City to share in their nationally
renowned UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVALS presentation of Great Expectations (or
Pride and Prejudice). Off to the Four Corners region we take in our final area of this
diverse state, ARCHES NATIONAL PARK and nearby MOAB. This red rock wonderland
contains some of the most scenic and inspiring landscapes anywhere with the world’s
largest concentration of natural sandstone arches. Our evening is mellowed with a visit to
the CASTLE CREEK WINERY for dinner and wine tasting before heading back to Salt
Lake the following day and our return flight to Cincinnati.
