A trip of a lifetime—across big sky prairies, through breathtaking mountains, down to the Pacific this is the journey the travel magazines talk about! Toronto to Vancouver—the country of Canada not at 35,000 ft., but right outside your window. We travel aboard the beautifully restored 1950’s stainless steel art-deco style of The Canadian— VIA Rail’s premiere Blue & Silver class rail experience. Our transcontinental experience begins as we fly from Cincinnati to Toronto prior to a Tuesday evening boarding of The Canadian. We depart Toronto traveling through a landscape of rugged and scenic beauty—miles and miles of pines, lakes, and giant boulders as we pass through the towns of Sudbury Junction, White River and Sioux Lookout. Passing through Winnipeg and Saskatoon we depart the train Friday afternoon in Jasper for an exceptional stay in the Canadian Rockies. The elegant and rustic Jasper Park Lodge is our home for two nights as we tour the Rockies by deluxe motorcoach, visiting the Columbia Icefields and dining in the continental splendor of Chateau Lake Louise. Sunday afternoon we reboard The Canadian traveling through the night to Vancouver. Here we depart for a tour of Stanley Park and other Vancouver sites, before ferrying to Victoria Island. After overnighting at the beautiful Hotel Grand Pacific our deluxe motorcoach tour of Victoria will include the world famous Buchert Gardens and afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel. Having seen the beauty and breadth of Canada we ferry back to the mainland and board our jet home from Vancouver the following morning.
