CHRISTMAS AT COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG
Monday-Friday, December 1-5
Since the first organized Christmas
celebration drew visitors to Colonial Williamsburg in 1936 nothing matches the excitement, sights, smells, sounds and grandeur
of the Christmas Season in Colonial Williamsburg. We’ll travel
aboard our deluxe motorcoach through the hills of West Virginia to Beckley where we enjoy the crafts and shopping along with a bite of lunch at the Tamarack Arts & Crafts Center before traveling
onto Charlottesville, VA. We begin the next morning with a tour of our 5th President James Monroe’s home Ash Lawn Highland.
Just a stones throw down the road we lunch at another historic landmark and home to the most incredible fried chicken, country cooked green beans and stewed tomatoes you’ll ever eat—the 200 year old Michie Tavern. Then onto Colonial Williamsburg with a bit of time to settle in and later enjoy a wonderful dinner at the historic Christina Campbell’s said to be a favorite of George Washington. The evening is yours to enjoy your choice of the historic
district’s holiday activities. Next morning our guides welcome
us with a morning orientatio tour of Colonial Williamsburg followed by an afternoon spent exploring the sites and history of the exquisite village. Our fourth morning we travel to nearby Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Battlefield & Victory Center with docent guided tours at both venues. After a brief r&r back in Colonial Williamsburg we’re off to our farewell dinner. In addition to the meals mentioned above we’ll dine at Colonial Williamsburg’s King’s Arms Tavern with continental breakfast each morning at our hotels. Our overnight accommodation in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg will be the Woodland Inn.
