Adventure lives in Ohio in this amazing conservation facility affiliated with the Columbus Zoo. The Wilds nurtures 24 species of animals endangered, threatened, or extinct in their native habitats and all protected on this 10,000 acre reclaimed section of former surface-mined land. Our guided tour will include the Outpost and Lake Trail areas home to rhinos, giraffes and many other animals roaming in large natural settings. We'll also visit the newest addition the Carnivore Conservation Center. Leaving the wilderness behind we head to the historic Stockport Mill Inn for dinner before arriving at our overnight accommodations at the Hampton Inn in Marietta. The next morning we're in for a treat as we head off to the Castle, historic home to many of the area's most prominent citizens, then onward to Sweetapple Farms for an autumn surprise and perhaps a bite to eat. Back to the river we enjoy a leisurely cruise aboard the paddle wheeler The Valley Gem as she gently glides through the autumn colors brightening the rivers edge. Our evening festivities include a bit of pre Halloween fun with a ghostly trip into the area's past aboard our trolley ghost tour, hosted by a local author well versed on the history of these former citizens
