SPRINGBROOK MEADOWS LAVENDER FIELD DAY FESTIVAL & HISTORIC ADENA MANSION
& GARDENS
Saturday, June 21
Our first stop is a visit to Ohio’s first state capitol Chillicothe and the 2000 acre estate of Thomas Worthington, 6th governor of the state. Adena Mansion was completed
in 1807 and is the design of Benjamin Henry Latrobe considered “the first professional American architect” and architect of the US Capitol. After a guided tour of the mansion, with time to explore the museum and gardens we share a fabulous home cookin’ lunch near Chillicothe at the renovated presbytery now known as the Bell Tower before heading to the lovely and fragrant fields of lavender and the Springbrook Meadows 6th annual Lavender Field Day. Home to over 100 species
of lavender but on this day host to artists, craftspeople and musicians joining to make this lovely, country festival. Time to explore the booths and venues, along with a special dessert of their famous lavender lemonade and blueberry cake. A tasty, historic,
fragrant day to share!
